TGIT
As classes wind down I must say that I am thouroughly exhausted. My mind is so tired from so much crowding and stuffing information in it! When I started on this particular college journey years ago I thought, hmmm....this won't be so bad. Well...was I ever wrong. Online is definately a new set of challenges for an old dog like me. You have to learn to be well disciplined and structured. Two things that I do not have anywhere in my life. School is definately getting harder and the classes are more in depth. This combined with running a household, being a mom, and trying to be a good wife makes it even more of a daily struggle. I now know the reason parents always try to get you to finish high school and go straight to college and not get out until you are quite sure that you are finished, then start a family! I did everything in my life backwards, but no matter how I get my degree I have made the promise to myself to stick with it until it is in my clutched hand! Congrats to all of those who go to school while working, raising children, keeping a marraige together and trying to keep your house from looking like a tornado ran though it!

Near the End
I can't believe that we are almost done with classes. It seems like yesterday and I was logging in trying to figure out the flex schedules and where to go. Both classes have been great. I have been challenged to think beyond what I ever thought was possible and proven to myself that I can do it!
This last week has proven quite the challenge. I have had a very sick baby who doesn't seem to be getting better, only worse. On top of that I hurt my back and can hardly move or do anything. Then I have Girl Scout candy to deliver, Signs to put up all over town, A house to clean, Laundry to do, Dishes to put away and clean, and children that won't behave! AAAAAAHHHH! I am going to pull out all of my hair. So the good thing is I might be bald, but I will have made it through both of my classes with passing grades!
This particular block of classes has been quite hard and challenging. I don't know if it is the classes themselves or maybe in conjuction with this time of year. It could be that my brain is just very tired! I will definately be glad when we have a break and I will be relaxing not thinking about anything! For Once!

Two Weeks
I absolutely hate the last two weeks of classes. It's crazy you spend the first two weeks of the courses feeling them out and figuring out what goes where and what your teachers expect and how they grade. Then things even out and its great. Then you start getting anxious about 6 weeks in and can't wait for the class to be out. Then the dreaded last two weeks come when papers are becoming due and your brain is tired. I know I can do it and pull off good grades, but my mind just doesn't want to. It makes me so tired to think about the comprehensive exams and the papers that are due. Yuck!!!! Why is it we complain and mope. We know we have to do it and that it was coming. Not like it was some big surprise, we have been working up to this point. At last though here we are and all I want to do is run the other way and not face it head on!!! We are such funny creatures! Well I guess its back to the old pen and paper to get them just perfect! (Which never happens)

OMG! Angels with Snot
Trying to get this done before my deadline! Hmmm...You know I don't really know what to right about and I really love to get on this blog. I hate to bore you again with complaints and drama. Sooo...Lets see I guess I will tell you something funny.
First I will start off by letting you know that I am a Girl Scout leader and have a troop of 6 Juniors right now. I have been a leader to these same girls for several years now and just stuck with them since they were Daisies. So every year we color paper angels for a community service project. These angels are for another organization I am in and we use these angels to write down lists that children in need are wanting for Christmas and hang them on the community Christmas Tree in town for the community to adopt. Well my girls are 9-10 and usually very caring and loving. Today I don't really know what got into them! Usually they never want to sit still for a meeting and want to draw and color, so I give them the chance today-Noooo! Today they wanted a meeting and didn't want to color! Heck some of them colored one angel and then said they were bored!!! Oh my! Well we had about 70 to get through and then cut them out. Well I pushed and they started coloring and cutting and finally all done...or so I thought. At the end of the meeting the girls are leaving and saying there goodbyes. I start to go through the angels and hole punch each one. While going through them I look down and notice that someone has decided on making these angels umm...well a little present on their noses. So here I am punching holes on these beautifully colored boy and girl angels and some of them have little green snot dots hanging out of their noses. Now wasn't that just the cutest thing!!! OMG! I can't hang these on the Christmas Tree! So now I am busy coloring and cutting new beautiful angels without the green dots! ARGGGHHHHHH! Children! I just had to laugh some of them even had little tongues sticking out. So my cute little Girl Scouts did complete the job I asked them and pushed them to do, but it does look like they did get the last laugh!
Just wait! We will have another meeting. That will give me plenty of time to think of something to do back to them for their thank you! LOL!

Procrastination
Why is it when I have a job to do I just procrastinate until the very last minute. I tend to do this with everything. I really need to be more diligent about doing things on time and on schedule and I even try. I make a list and set out to do it. I even do most of the things on my list, but there at the bottom of the list lies the very thing that I dread doing so I continue to make excuses for myself to myself and put it off longer?! Why oh why? I could just do the dreaded duty first, but noooo. I don't do it. I have even put myself through bootcamp and made myself become more task oriented and more diligent about finishing. At most of these tasks I have gotten better at completing and doing on time and not waiting till the last minute, but there before me lies the things that I dread that I do wait until the last minute for...homework, folding the laundry, packing for any trip, there are a few others left nameless.
So as far as folding the laundry goes I wait usually until one of my daughters is either looking for clean socks or a pair of panties. How sad is that?! I just absolutely dread folding the laundry. It really doesn't take that long I just hate doing it, so I procrastinate! Packing for trips! Oh boy, now there is something done on the fly. No matter how much I plan and try it just never happens on time and early. Here I am at 4 A.M. packing and we have to leave at 5! Nothing new here for me. The homework issue, now there is an issue. I start off doing great early on in the class then as time goes on the homework gets turned in later and later. What is wrong with me? Especially with writing a paper. Now there is something confusing. I could be writing over a great subject and one that I love and I am even great at writing usually. Put me on a deadline though and I have major mental block.
Hmmm....Oh well, guess some things never change. Maybe my best work is done under pressure.
